DTCO B7 pulse output failed. Manufacturer's specific error. To solve the problem, it will be necessary to check the output of the B7, as well as the connection between the device and the unit
Malfunction of the vehicle's Can system. The error will be displayed on the screen every hour until the issue is fixed. It will be necessary to check tachograph settings, CAN power, connection, and wiring.
The "Heartbeat" message tells us that there is poor communication between an external instrument panel and the tachograph, through the Can. If the "Com.Box Inst" parameter is ON, you'll need to handle that communication. It is an error that will be displayed on the screen every hour. Disable the parameter and clear the error memory to fix the issue.
Indicates an error in the reception of the speed signal (only in versions 1.0 to 1.4). You'll need to check the KITAS cable, DTCO power, and connectors.
The DTCO is unable to eject the card. One of the possible causes is that the vehicle is moving, downloading the data, or being read or written on the inserted card.
Unable to print the requested data or a print in progress has been cancelled. Some of the causes may be that the vehicle is moving, or non-contact (ADR), or that the printer has overheated. The food will have to be checked as well.
Flags an error related to the closing of the last card session. This occurs when the tachograph detects an incorrect removal of the last vehicle when reading the card (slot 1) or when the data is not stored correctly.
This refers to the insertion of the card while moving, i.e. while driving, once the journey has begun. This is because the sensor detects impulses before the card reading has been completed (slot 1).
Card rejected due to DTCO date error. The date should be checked and the CTCII corrected. If the message continues and the date is before July 2005, the tachograph will need to be replaced.
The last card process was not successful. That is, it is a notice related to the closure of the last session. This occurs when the control device detects an incorrect extraction from the last vehicle or when the data is not saved correctly (slot 2).
Inserting the card while the vehicle is moving or while driving. This is because the sensor detects impulses before the card reading has been completed (slot 2).
An error occurred during the system update. The integrity of the module is not guaranteed or there is some corrupt file. In these cases, the update will be canceled.
This error marks a conflict in the evaluation between the sensor and the second speed signal. It is usually given when the IMS signal is missing or set incorrectly, perhaps due to an event while boarding a train or ferry. It will be necessary to check the KITAS2+ sensor cable, the IMS function, its configuration and the connection between the DTCO and the vehicle’s CAN bus. It will appear on your device's screen until the problem is remedied.
Indicates an IMS fault, in which the additional motion signal is not or is not available (GPS not available). It is displayed on the screen every hour until the cause disappears. The IMS function, the wiring of the CAN bus, the connection between the CAN bus and the DTCO and the power supply of the T30, T15 and T31 must be checked.
Find your VDO Workshop:
Now that you know how to interpret the minor errors that your DTCO can flag, we recommend that you always go to your nearest VDO Workshop to solve these incidents, as they will be equipped with the latest tools, provided by the market leading tachograph manufacturer: VDO.
Also remember that, for all these cases in which the tachograph is "unusable", you will have to register your activity manually to avoid penalties.
